What to check on an E30
- Rust in the shock towers, jacking points, rear subframe mounts and sunroof pan.
- Cooling system age — the M20 and S14 both punish neglected radiators, hoses and water pumps.
- S14 M3 valve adjustment and timing chain history, plus documented rod bearings.
- Original paint depth, matching VIN plates and a clean, transferable title.
- Interior trim and dash cracks; correct-period parts are increasingly scarce.
